Jared Carr

Lutheran North

Social Studies Teacher

We are so excited to welcome Mr. Jared Carr to our ministry team.  Please take a moment to learn a little more about Mr. Carr and his journey to becoming part of our ministry team here at Lutheran North.

Hello, my name is Jared Carr. My mom, dad, older sister, and I live in Shelby Township. My family and I were members of Trinity Lutheran Church, Utica for 18 years. We are now all members of St. John Lutheran Church, Rochester. My older sister and I were homeschooled from grade school all the way through high school. I attended Macomb Community College for 2 years and in Summer 2020, I transferred over to Oakland University. After studying there for 3 years, I graduated from Oakland University in April 2024. My previous work experience includes working at Uno Chicago Grill in Sterling Heights for the previous eight-and-a-half years as a host, busser, and server. As part of my last steps before graduating from Oakland University, I completed my student teaching internship at Adlai E. Stevenson high school in Sterling Heights. Upon graduating from Oakland University, I was unsure of where I would seek for my first teaching position. After applying for a handful of local public schools, I also completed the basic application for Lutheran High North and Lutheran High Northwest in hopes of hearing back from them soon. Having had family members, including my mother, who have graduated from Lutheran High North in the past, further my decision in prayerfully accepting the position as the new Social Studies Teacher at Lutheran High North.

Please warmly welcome Jared as a Mustang and get to know him through our Staff Spotlight 20 Questions below!!

The saying goes, "Sometimes you need those bad days, because it helps you appreciate the good ones."

  20. Is there any advice you’d offer to current and future Lutheran North students?

Get ready for one of the most rewarding experiences. Getting the opportunity to study God's word in a school where it is encouraged and not discriminated against, sounds like a winning situation to me. Besides being a school building where all students do is go to class and learn different facts from various subject areas, LHN is a place where relationships are solidified. Teachers, students, and other members of the faculty, we are all truly doing our parts to Learning for Life! Leading for Truth.

WELCOME TO LUTHERAN NORTH, jared!
