Grade School Memories - Trinity Clinton Township

We’re so very grateful to each of the families, schools, and educators that have prepared students to attend Lutheran North: Christian, homeschool, private, and public alike. Last week, we celebrated National Lutheran Schools Week, and today, with the help of the Class of 2021, we’re highlighting a couple favorite memories and teachers from our local Lutheran grade schools. Please take a moment to look for a few familiar faces or fond memories!

I loved my soccer and basketball Coach Flaherty. He’s my friends dad and is awesome.

Mr. Brown taught me a lot about what it’s like to have fun in school but to also get work done at the same time.

Mr. Brown made a big impact on me because he found a way to make teaching fun and effective.

My eighth grade teacher Mrs. Buss was great because she really cares about us and would go out of her way to make sure we had a good education and a good school year with her.
— Kevin Flaherty '21
My favorite memory was my classmates becoming my best friends and family and still being friends with them today.

Sally Buss made the biggest impact on me. She cares about each class that comes in, she was a good teacher to help you learn academically and how to grow up with the proper attitude and faith.

Mr. Brown was also my 7th grade teacher and for his birthday we printed out a laminated poster of Napoleon Dynamite with Mr. Browns face on it because he has a hatred for the napoleon dynamite movie. We also got him a cake with a semi colon on it because he hates semi colons for no reason.

Mr. Petzold made a big impact on me. He taught me hard work and our team as well, by pushing us with push ups and suicides and other challenges that had consequences if we didn’t make it.
— Nick Cameron '21
Mrs. Buss was my favorite teacher because she was a great teacher who always had your back

My eighth grade teacher, Mrs. Sally Buss, had the most influence on my grade school experience, because she taught me many valuable lessons which are still with me today and she also helped me to grow as a student and as a human being.
