Homecoming 2018 Recap
Thank you to the Mustangs and fans alike for making Homecoming Week 2018 a memorable one! Throughout Homecoming week students competed to earn spirit points to win the Spirit Jug. They dressed up for spirit days and participated in raising funds for St. Jude's Children Hospital. The pep assembly culminated the week with the announcement of which class raised the largest amount of money to help out the kids at St. Jude's. The sophomore class contributed the most money with a total donation from all the classes of $750. The theology teacher whose classes donated the least amount of money had to kiss a pig and Mr. Horvath puckered up for the cause. As a result, the sophomores accumulated the most spirit points and won the Spirit Jug. Seniors and juniors competed in the championship Powder Puff game and the seniors prevailed. Both Soccer teams had decisive wins over Lakeshore with the JV soccer team winning 8-0 and Varsity 4-0. In spite of the rain, the football team was victorious over Liggett 42-22. During halftime, the festivities continued with Logan Cochran and Alaina Haller being crowned 2018 Homecoming king and queen. Members of the court included seniors Lia Gutierrez, Madison Hentgen, Lauren Mow, Sabrina Timmerman, Grace Yeoman, Alec Escandon, Paul Gauss, John Kandt, Josh Kurlinski and Tyler Trammel; juniors Corinna Gunter, Savannah Schwarzwalter, Joseph Shore and Brandon Smith; sophomores Maya Hielscher, Alexis Movsesian, Kevin Flaherty and Dylan Fox. Over 500 students attended the Chinese New Year themed dance. Thank you to all the volunteers, student council, and their advisors Ms. Haupt & Mrs. Beens for the fabulous decorations.
