Class of 2024 Valedictorian & Salutatorians
It is our pleasure to introduce the Class of 2024 valedictorians, Brandon Avery, Joshua Avery, Bianca Cicchetti, Catelyn Moldenhauer and Thomas Phillips. Our salutatorians are Ava Bonin, Marena Maceroni and Jillian Probst. All of these students were chosen for their excellence in the classroom. These students demonstrated outstanding achievement in the classroom during their years at Lutheran North. We congratulate them on this honor and pray God's blessings upon them and the entire Senior Class as they enter into the next exciting phase of their lives!
Brandon Avery - Brandon is a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and School where he went to grade school. At Lutheran North, he participated in Soccer, Basketball, National Honor Society, and Chess Club. In the Men's soccer program, he led the team as the captain during his Senior year. He plans on attending Michigan Technological University with a major in Mechanical Engineering. Brandon's Lutheran North experience was special because of all the friends that he was able to make there. Through them he learned that who you surround yourself with matters. Through the support of his friends and family, he has been pushed to be the best person that he could possibly be both academically and spiritually.
Joshua Avery - Joshua is an active member of St. Peter Church in Macomb, where he also attended Elementary school. At Lutheran North, he was involved in soccer, basketball, Chess Club, and National Honor Society. During his time in the soccer program, he was able to become the team captain. He enjoys volunteering for elementary sports camps at Lutheran North as well as Soccer Buddies. He plans on attending Michigan Tech and majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Joshua's Lutheran North experience was made special because of all his fellow classmates and teachers who pushed him to grow in his faith. This combined with the academic and extracurricular activities has shaped who he is today. He has learned that the friends that you make will help push you to achieve your goals no matter how hard they may be.
Bianca Cicchetti - Bianca, along with her family, is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb. She attended elementary school there and has spent all four years of high school at Lutheran North. Bianca has been involved in Cross Country, Track, Basketball, Chess club, and National Honor Society at North. Bianca plans to attend the University of Detroit Mercy and major in Mechanical Engineering. Bianca’s Lutheran North experience was special because of the academic opportunities and the centering of Christ found in each class. Her teachers and fellow classmates’ support has helped shape her into who she is today. Most importantly, North has equipped her to be able to defend the faith and helped her grow in her relationship with God. Above all, she gives all glory to God for this accomplishment.
Catelyn Moldenhauer - I am a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb. Throughout my four years at North, I was involved in HOSA, National Honor Society, and the varsity dance team. In the fall, I plan to attend the University of Michigan and major in chemical engineering. I had an amazing experience at Lutheran North because of all the academic and athletic opportunities I was given. I was always supported by my teachers and felt that I was in the best environment possible. I have learned to work hard academically, but most importantly I have also grown in my faith.
Thomas Phillips - Thomas, along with his family, is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton Township. He attended elementary school there and spent all four years of high school at Lutheran North. In his time at Lutheran North, Thomas was involved in cross country, track, theatre, bowling club, and chess club. He also served as President of the National Honor Society. Thomas will be attending Grand Valley State University in the fall, and he plans to major in statistics with an actuarial science emphasis. Thomas’s Lutheran North experience was special because of the amazing environment fostered there. The teachers and fellow students provide never-ending support, which has guided him and helped strengthen his faith. Throughout his experience at Lutheran North, Thomas has learned to never give up on what’s ahead for him.
Ava is a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She attended elementary and middle school there and has spent all four years of high school at Lutheran North. Ava has been involved in Cheerleading and National Honor Society at North. Ava is attending the University of Detroit Mercy next year to become a Physician Assistant. She had a wonderful experience at North, growing in knowledge and her faith. Her family, teachers, and classmates have helped shape her into the person she is today. She enjoyed the Christ centered classes at Lutheran North, which have taught her to be able to keep and defend her faith throughout her life. She thanks her family and friends for supporting her and gives glory to God for this accomplishment.
Marena, along with her family, is a member of Saint Augustine Catholic Church in Richmond. She attended elementary school at Saint Augustine Catholic School and spent all four years of high school at Lutheran North. Marena has been involved in Soccer, Basketball, HOSA, and National Honor Society. Marena plans to attend Northern Michigan University to play soccer and study biochemistry. Marena's Lutheran North experience was special because of the outstanding academic opportunities that were rooted in Christ. North has given her the resources to be successful in the classroom but also in her faith. Her classmates, teachers, and peers have supported and helped her throughout her years at North. Most importantly, she wants to thank God for all of her accomplishments, and all the glory goes to Him.
Jillian and her family are members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb. She attended preschool through eighth grade there and has gone to Lutheran North for all four years of high school. Jillian has been involved in Cross Country, Basketball, Track & Field, HOSA, National Honor Society, Ski Club, and Example. Jillian will be attending University of Michigan in the fall and plans on majoring in Biology on a Pre-Dental track. Throughout her time at Lutheran North, Jillian enjoyed a Christ-centered foundation. The academic opportunities and support from classmates and teachers prepared her for her future after Lutheran North and helped her grow in her faith. She gives all glory to God for these accomplishments.
