Class of 2023 Valedictorian & Salutatorians

It is our pleasure to introduce the Class of 2023 valedictorian, Lance Cody and salutatorians, Madeline DiLella, Annemarie Hale, and Julia Joseph chosen for their excellence in the classroom. These students demonstrated outstanding achievement in the classroom during their years at Lutheran North. We congratulate them on this honor, and pray God's blessings upon them and the entire Senior Class as they enter into the next exciting phase of their lives!


2023 Valedictorian: 

LANCE CODY

Lance, along with his family, is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Macomb. He attended elementary school there and has spent all four years of high school at Lutheran North. Lance is involved in Theatre crew, building sets, and helping in the production. He is also a member of National Honor Society. Lance plans to attend the University of Michigan and major in Nuclear Engineering.

Lance’s Lutheran North experience was special because of the academic and extracurricular opportunities. The teachers and fellow students create an environment of support which has shaped him into who he is today. He has learned especially that there is always a way to your goal, no matter how hard it may seem.


2023 Salutatorian: 

MADELINE DILELLA

Madeline DiLella is a member at St. Isidore Catholic Church. At Lutheran North she was involved in National Honor Society, HOSA, Example, and Basketball. She enjoys volunteering as a camp counselor at elementary school basketball camps. She has also volunteered with Gifts for All God’s Children to provide Christmas presents for those in need. She plans to attend the University of Michigan and major in Biology, Health, and Society.

Her Lutheran North experience was made special by the connections she has made with friends, coaches, and teachers. She was able to establish life-long friendships and learn countless lessons. She has learned how to work hard, maintain discipline and responsibility, and live a God-pleasing life.


2023 Salutatorian: 

ANNEMARIE HALE

Annemarie and her family attend St. Mark’s Orthodox Church in Rochester where she often volunteers in the summer by working VBS. Annemarie came to LHN after attending St. Thecla in Clinton Township. Throughout her four years at LHN, she has been a part of the Cross Country, Track, and Ice Hockey teams. She also belonged to HOSA - where she served as President, NHS - as the group service project coordinator, Theatre - in the pit band for Beauty and the Beast, and Y4Life. In addition to her involvement at school, Annemarie was also part of MSU’s Future Docs program and PCAA board. In the fall, she plans on attending Auburn University’s Honors College to pursue a degree in nursing and furthering her education to become a Physician’s Assistant.

Annmarie’s Lutheran North experience was special because of the amazing teachers and staff who are dedicated to helping all their students use their talents and passions to achieve their goals. Through the support of her teachers and the sacrifice of her parents in sending her to LHN, she was able to further her education and faith in Christ in an enjoyable and beneficial way.


2023 Salutatorian: 

JULIA JOSEPH

Julia Joseph came to LHN from the Chippewa Valley School district, having attended Shawnee Elementary and Seneca Middle School. Julia currently serves are the president of the National Honor Society and secretary of HOSA. During her school career, Julia played softball and track. She was also involved in art club, bowling club, and played piano for LHN’s musicals. Julia enjoyed helping her community by tutoring at North and doing VBS’s over the summer. In the fall, Julia plans on attending the University of Michigan to pursue a degree in astrophysics.

Julia’s experience at Lutheran North was special because of the environment she experienced when she transferred schools in her sophomore year. The students and teachers created a welcoming and loving environment which set off her love for the school from the beginning. Julia has learned how to build a community, work hard, and how to live a life walking in Christ.
