Senior Spotlight: Gabrielle Petrella

A 4.0 student at Lutheran North, Gabriella Petrella earned a 1280 on the SAT. Her future plans include attending University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and studying Biomedical Sciences. She attended St. Mary Catholic for grade school and St. Peter Catholic is her home congregation.

Gabrielle has participated in EXAMPLE, HOSA, National Honor Society, Basketball and Cross Country while at Lutheran North. In addition to outstanding academic achievements at Lutheran North, Gabrielle also earned HOSA Regional Winner for Biomedical Laboratory Science, Archdiocese of Detroit Scholastic All Catholic Team, MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Future Docs Program and her varsity letter in Cross Country. Gabrielle has also served her community as an alter server at St. Peter, Archdiocese of Detroit Mercy Day in Actin volunteer and through Red Cross Blood Drive volunteer and donor.

When asked Who influenced you the most in your academic career, Gabriella answered:

My 7th grade teacher Mrs. Sheils because she taught me the importance of hard work and dedication to my studies. In her class, I realized my interests in math and science. With her help, I was able to improve my skills and excel inside and outside the classroom.

Being in a faith based environment everyday, with people that share similar interests helped me grow in character and broaden my views about the world.

Small things like interacting with a friend in the hallway, eating lunch and laughing together, conversations with my table partner during class, and spirit weeks.
