20 QUESTIONS

  1. What’s your role at Lutheran North?

    Social StudiesTeacher

  2. Where are you from?

Oakland County, Michigan. I have lived in Michigan my whole life.

  3. When did you know that you wanted to be in the Lutheran high school environment and what led you to pursue that path?

Originally after graduating NMU I was just looking to find a starter school and I wanted to try out different school environments. But during the past school year I often thought back to my years at LHNW and found myself missing the community and environment where I surrounded by other people who believed what I believed and that I could share my faith daily.

  4. What’s your favorite Bible verse?

On of my favorite Bible verses is actually the same as North's theme verse for the year. Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?

  5. What are three words to best describe you?

    Caring, Passionate, Reliable

  6. What was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?

When I was in college I would work at Our Shepherd's summer day care for the K-5th grade kids. And during the summer we would go on field trips to some pretty interesting places like the DIA or the Birmingham Police Station. But the most interesting place that we went with the kids was to the Detroit Parade Company, where they made all the parade floats and costumes for the Thanksgiving Parades.

  7. Do you have a hidden talent? What is it?

A talent that not many people might know about is that I like to make floral arrangements. I recently created all the centerpieces and bouquets for my wedding.

  8. If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?

If I had a superpower I would love to be able to travel in time to witness historical moments from the past. This is clearly the superpower wish of an individual who loves history.

  9. What’s your favorite food?

My favorite food that I don't really have super often would be Nacho Cheese Doritos. They are just the perfect chip in my opinion.

  10. What’s your least favorite food?

Bananas. I don't care for the smell, the texture, and the taste. Never really cared for them in general.

  11. What’s your favorite place that you’ve traveled and why?

San Diego! It is magical! the perfect temperature year round, gorgeous beaches, and fantastic food!

  12. Where would you like to travel next and why?

I'm not sure exactly where I would like to travel next. But I would love to make my way out to the major national parks out west sometime soon.

I don't usually watch sports. But I will always cheer for the Detroit Lions.

  16. Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I'm not sure any more. I used to be a major night owl in college, but in the last couple years I am becoming more of an early bird. I guess depending on the day I can be either.

  17. Are you a dog person or a cat person (neither or both)?

    I love both!

  18. What’s one of your favorite memories from the past year?

My favorite memory from this past year was the day I got married. It was just a beautiful day, perfect weather, a day full of love, laughter, and a ton of dancing.

  19. What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?

"Don't worry about what other people think." That was advice given to me by my parents.

  20. Is there any advice you’d offer to current and future Lutheran North students?

The advice that I would give to any student would be to work hard but be present. And what I mean by that is, school of course is important, but it is also important to make time to enjoy the things happening around you. It can be easy to be so focused on academics that you can forget to be involved in other school activities or things out side of school that bring you joy.
