Coronavirus Update from The Superintendent

As we continue to forge ahead into these uncertain times, we also must contend with information that seems to change daily. Some of it we can tune out and some of it has a very significant impact on us.

Perhaps the most current example is news coming out today regarding Michigan school closures. We are aware that there has been an announcement by the Michigan Department of Education, that the remote learning during this time of school closure will not count toward instructional hours.

The Michigan Association of Non-public Schools (MANS) representatives are addressing this issue. We have been assured that this decision by the MDE does not impact our Lutheran schools. MANS has stated that our nonpublic school bodies are free to make their decisions for what is best for our schools. We will be recognizing our online learning as a part of our school curriculum and counting it as instructional days.

You may hear more about this in the next few days. However, our schools work very closely with MANS and the Superintendent of the Michigan District LCMS schools. Any new information that is shared with us will also be shared with our families.

Most importantly, our Lutheran schools continue to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ; the message of comfort, hope, and peace through our Faith will never be dampened!

Thank you for continuing to put your faith in our schools as we all place our lives in the Hands of the Heavenly Father!
